Rinku Singh Is Heartbroken, Reveals Father Following His T20 World Cup 2024 Snub From Team India | Cricket News

Rinku Singh’s father reacted to his son not making it in the top 15 for Team India’s T20 World Cup squad. He mentioned that the family had already ordered sweets and crackers thinking Rinku will make it to the team. BCCI named a 15-member squad on Tuesday (April 30). Unfortunately for the KKR star, he could only get his name in the reserve sheet for the 2024 World Cup.

“There were a lot of hopes, but there were disappointments as well. We had got sweets and firecrackers with the hope that he will feature in the playing XI. Still, we are very happy,” Rinku’s father told Bharat 24. Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh feels that Rinku Singh should have been included in India’s 15-player squad for the T20 World Cup which will kick off in June. On Tuesday, India announced their squad for the marquee event which will be held in the USA and the West Indies.

Rinku missed out on the squad and was included as a reserve player alongside Shubman Gill, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan. Harbhajan stated that Rinku should have been included in the squad as he possess the ability to change the complexion of the game on his own.

“I feel Rinku Singh should have been included in the team, a player who has the potential to change the game on his own and has not been included in the team is Rinku,” Harbhajan said on his YouTube channel. (IPL 2024: Rinku Singh Explains ‘Bhul Gaya Jo Mahi Bhai Ne Bola Tha’ Viral Statement)

India will head into the tournament with the powerful pace attack led by Jasprit Bumrah with Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Siraj adding more boost.
